ADVANCED CERTIFICATIONS
These courses are available for dental assistants who already have on-the-job training and work experience.
Expanded Functions Certification
Course Description:
This two day course is for the dental assistant who has been formally trained by a licensed dentist. Students in the EFDA class must be able to perform all of the expanded functions in a clinical setting and pass a written exam with a grade of 75% or better to become certified.
Program Objectives:
To certify a dental assistant in the Expanded Functions procedure listed below as prescribed by the Florida Board of Dentistry.

Program Cost: $550
All material to be used will be included in the program cost!
Time Frame:
This is 2-day course held either on Fridays or Saturdays from 9:00 a.m to 3:30 p.m. each day.
Radiology Certification
Course Description:
This is a one day course for a dental assistant who is already trained by a licensed dentist in taking x-rays. Enrollee must possess at least three months continuous on-the-job training in the State of Florida through assisting in the positioning and exposing of dental radiographic film. After performing skills in a clinical setting and passing a written exam with a grade of 75% or better a certificate will be issued.
Program Objectives:
To certify a dental assistant in the radiographic procedures listed below as prescribed by the Florida Board of Dentistry.
